In 1992, the Hao Ran Foundation sponsored seminars on national land-use planning, steel infrastructure technology development, and the application of environmental protection data.

In 2001, Hao Ran sponsored a talk by His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama. Open to Hao Ran workshop participants, the session had the theme of “Universal Responsibility.”
